Frequently asked questions about donating

We're excited to partner with you to give clothes a second life and raise funds for the Salvation Army. Here are answers to common questions about donating to The Spring Exchange.

What types of clothing items do you accept?

We accept a wide range of gently used clothing and accessories, including shirts, pants, dresses, jackets, shoes, belts, and bags. Donations should be clean, laundered, and in good condition.

Are there any items you cannot take?

Jewelry, broken or heavily worn items, as well as those with stains or significant damage, should be repaired or excluded. We aim to provide high-quality items for resale.

Where can I drop off my donations?

You can drop off your donations at the DePaul Lincoln Park campus, on the first floor under the stairs. Additionally, donations are accepted at DePaul Barnes & Noble in the student involvement office. We will also accept donations at the event itself.

*DePaul Donation Drive will end May 15th, 2026*

What's the main reason to donate clothes to The Spring Exchange?

By donating your clothes, you give them a second life. Not only is this better for the environment by promoting sustainability, but you are also directly helping others in need by supporting the Salvation Army through our fundraising efforts.
